How to file a criminal suit in Nigerian lower courts

Image
Photo Credit: Google Images In my one of my previous posts I wrote on how to file a civil suit in Nigerian lower courts. Today, I am writing on how to file a criminal suite in Nigerian lower courts. Please subscribe to my next post on the difference between criminal and civil suits so you don't miss it. Just like the civil suit in the lower court, an individual can also initiate a criminal suit in a lower court, even without the help of a lawyer. I mean, the service of a lawyer is not necessary but if you can afford it, it is better for you. There are little differences between initiating a civil suit and a criminal suit in lower court. Just read attentively as I will explain them in this article. In criminal suit at times you may go through the police when initiating it in the lower courts. This may happen when you report the person you are suing to the police or when the police has arrestd the accused person before informing you. In either of the two scenarios, the police wil...

How to file a civil suit in superior courts in Nigeria

Image
In one of my previous posts I wrote on how to file a civil suit in Nigerian lower courts. Today, this article is concerned with how to file a civil suit in superior courts in Nigeria. Like I said in that previous post, the processes in lower court differ from that of the superior courts. In a superior cout like the High Court of the state for instance, you need a lawyer in order to do that. This means, service of a lawyer is necessary, unlike the lower court where you can do it yourself. You need to go to a law firm (Chamber), get your lawyer and explain to your lawyer in details the facts of your matter. Did I say explain everything in details? Yea! That's what I really mean. After examining the facts of your matter, your lawyer will tell you what to do. He will tell you if the suit may favour you or not. If it won't favour you and you are the Plaintiff ( the person suing) there is no need of wasting your time and money to proceed with the case. The best thing is to quit. B...

How to earn money online for beginners

Image
Although it has become like a usual chorus that almost every internet savvy sings; making money online is still true and it exists . So many people have testified of the good side of it; while so many have also delved into it but didn't wait for others to advise them to make a reverse. Just like every other area of success in life, making money online has its hindrances and challenges also. The truth of it is that it is real but one must come up with products to sale or services to render to the public. Like myself, it has been working for me as a result of the services I render to my clients. The two services that give me a better income online are bulk SMS service I render to my clients and blogs I design for companies and private individuals. There are other services that also bring me income but the aforementioned two are far much better. So, before you think of making money online, first, think of the service you can render to others and get paid. If you have such a service...

Just like King Solomon said in his book of wisdom, "wisdom is profitable to direct." I applied a certain wisdom during the data gathering exercise in order to make myself the thousands of Naira I made. After making my analysis on what Vconnect wanted from me, I came to a conclusion that the only thing they needed was active (existing) business data of people withing Nigeria, hence the reason for confirmation of all the data I upload before they pay me. Looking at it that what they really needed was genuine existing business data, a thought came to my mind on how to gather huge amount of data for ...

How to make at least 50k in bukl SMS as a beginner

Image
Success in bulk SMS business is real but it is all about knowing your targeted customers and clients. In this article, I am speaking from my personal experience. I am talking of how you can make at least 50k as a beginner, unlike the plethora of adverts we see and read online on daily basis; where they tell you that you can make millions on bulk SMS as a beginner. I disagree with such a claim. I want to say it categorically that as a beginner you can make at least 50k in a month as your profit if you are a serious business minded fellow, but just as it is said; salvation is free but you have a price to pay. In order to make it in bulk SMS as a beginner, many things are involved. You MUST be committed; you have to go from one place to the other in order to tell your potential clients and customers the benefits you and your bulk SMS can bring to their businesses. You must have access to internet 24/7 so you don't fail your clients when they begin to patronize you. With the help...

Difference between motion exparte and motion on notice

Image
Both are interlocutory injunctions sought by way of applications (prayer) before the court; but they serve different purposes. Motion exparte which is interpreted as 'on one party' is an application before the court in time of urgency; to restrain from doing an act which may cause an irreparable injury to the applicant. The order subsists pending the final determination of the suit. Eg. If the subject matter of the suit is a an economic tree, and the defendant intends to cut the tree because he claims it belongs to him, the plaintiff can apply for a motion exparte for court to stop the Defendant from cutting the tree until the suit is determined. It is an exception to the rule of fair hearing enshrined in the constitution. So, the Defendant need not be served provided the Plaintiff can convince the court that waiting for the Defendant to be served will occasion an irreparable injury on him as the Defendant may cut the tree before service is effected on him. Motion on noti...

The faulty Blackberry phone I bought on amazon

Like I said in one of my previous posts on how to buy things on amazon, there are fraudster on amazon, so be very careful in making transaction with sellers. In every group of disciples is always Judas. There was a time I bought eitheen fairly used Blackberry phones on Amazon and I discovered that one of them - BB 8900 (Curve Javeline) was faulty. The phone doesn't make calls nor receives calls. Each time I want to make call with it, it indicates 'only emergency calls are allowed.' When someone tries to call me, the person will see 'user busy'. In fact, it nearly cost me my fiancee as she was calling me on a faithful night and she kept seeing 'user busy'. She thought another lady has snatched me from her. Lol! At last I was the one that used the phone for browsing and text messages as those are the only things it could offer. But what I am trying to say here is this; I made every necessary enquiry before buying the phone and the seller told me with confid...

The first mistake I made on amazon

In fulfillment of my promise in my previous post that I will write an article on my experince on Amazon as a beginner, today I have decided to fulfil the promise; hence the emergence of this article. Just like very other beginer, I also had an encounter on amazon too; a bad encounter so to say. The first mistake I made on amazon was when I bought an android pc thinking it was a very good laptop. Hahahaha! I saw the price ($104) Hundred and four US Dollars for a brand new, so I thought God has buttered my bread on that day; not until when it arrived and I discovered it wasn't what I wanted to buy. What a frustration! I think you can now see the reason why it is of a paramount importance that you make serious enquiries before you buy anything on amazon website. I was a victim just because I didn't realise how important it was to make enquiries before buying on amazon, then as a beginer. Believe me, I couldn't use the android pc because its battery barely lasted for thirty ...

How to buy on Amazon; for beginers

Buying on Amazon may sound very easy but the truth is that its a bit challenging, especially to novies. Honestly speaking, things are very cheap on amazon especially fairly used items, such as: Blackberry phones, Computer laptops, Digital cameras, iphones, android phones and tabs, etc. But not withstanding the fact that they may be cheap, you ought to be extra careful when buying. You need to make accurate enquiries on the items you want to buy. We have been carried away by the fact that the white men are not fraudulent but in my years of experience on Amazon, I have come to realize that among them are Judas Iscariots. So, you are expected to make enquiries on the item you want to buy before you either buy or leave it. You get to send emails directly to the seller for enquiries. You also need to carefully read reviews on the products you want to buy and on the person or seller you want to buy from. Be sure you are satisfied with the response from the seller. Your enquiry should be ...

How I pay customs clearance fee for my goods from amazon

If you are buying anything on amazon, one of the budgets you ought to make is your customs clearance fee. At times I pay up to seventeen thousand naira for a single shipment. The amount you pay to customs is determined by the amount of items you bought. The higher the amount of your items, the higher your custom fee. When I ship my things, I choose either DHL or FEDEX express. They appear to be more reliable and trustworthy to me; especially DHL. When my consignments arrive Lagos, they will notify me of the customs clearance fee; that is if customs with holds the items, because there are times when they don't hold my consignment. At times I get information through tracking even before I am notified by DHL or FEDEX. If my consignments are with customs, the tracking system informs me. When they hold my consignment, I pay the clearance fee into DHL or FEDEX account and DHL or FEDEX will settle custom on my behalf. Subscribe for my next post on how to file a complaint on amazon.

How amazon debits your account for your purchases; for beginners

You may be wondering how your account is being debited each time you make purchase on amazon. When you buy an item on amazon, after checking out to the payment section, your account is temporarily debited with the value of the items you have purchased. The money will remain in your account until the items you purchased are confirmed to have been delivered to you before the money finally leaves your account. At the time of temporary debit, the money will be in your account but it is on hold until your items are delivered to you before the money will be credited to the account of the seller. This is to avoid fraud, for instance where the buyer may collect your money without delivering the items. In a situation where the seller fails to deliver the items, your money will be revesed to your account. This is almost the same thing that happens in every online transaction. I hope this wipes away the fear of buying online in the minds of my fellow Nigerians who never believe that there is ...

THE FIRST THING I BOUGHT ON AMAZON

Before I started buying on amazon, I used to be a doubting Thomas. Lol! Then I was doubting if I would get my things shipped to me in Nigeria. This fear overwhelmed me to an extent that the only thing I bought was a sixteen (16) GB Sonny memory stick for my digital camera, at seven ($7) US Dollars. It was shipped from amazon to my shipping agent (MY US) in Florida. As soon as it got to MY US, they shipped it to Nigeria without waiting for an instruction from me. This was because I was maintaining a standard account with them. Standard account doesn't have any special benefit like Premium account which allows you to keep your items on hold up to thirty (30) day, after which every item incurs a storage fee of one ($1) US Dollar per day, or premium plus account which you can also place your items on hold too. COURT BARS PUBLICATION OF OBASANJO'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Source: Guardian AN Abuja High Court has barred former President Olusegun Obasanjo from proceeding with plans to publish or have someone publish on his behalf a new autobiography entitled, My Watch. Presided by Justice Valentine Ashi, the court, after listening to an exparte motion by Dr. Alex Iziyon (SAN) on Friday behalf of a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Buruji Kashamu, gave the restraining order. Iziyon had submitted that the content of the book relates to issues contained in Obasanjo's December 2, 2013 letter to President Goodluck Jonathan and former National Chairman of the PDP, Bamanga Tukur, in which the former president alleged that Kashamu was a fugitive and was wanted in the United States (U.S.) He argued that since the content of the letter is the subject of his client's pending libel suit against Obasanjo, it would be wrong before a court of law for him to be allowed to proceed to comment on, write books about or make publications on the ...

THE WICKEDNESS OF OUR LEADERS

Nigeria leaders are wicked and selfish. I have come to realize this fact after making analysis on what is happening in our political field. I have discovered that political affairs and positions have turned to family and friends business in Nigeria. The positions keeep rotating within the friends and family circle of our wicked leaders. What an evil plan agaist the poor! Imagine; the poor can no longer contest for any elective position in this country simply because, these cabals have made the cost of nomination form unbearable for the poor. Even if the person has a good plan for the country; he/she cannot contest because the cost of nomination form is not affordable to him/her. These cabals have hiked the price purposely to render the poor incapacitated? How can the poor afford Twenty Seven Million Naira (N27,000,000) just to purchase a mere nomination form? What a wicked leadership we have!
