How amazon debits your account for your purchases; for beginners
You may be wondering how your account is being debited each time you make purchase on amazon. When you buy an item on amazon, after checking out to the payment section, your account is temporarily debited with the value of the items you have purchased. The money will remain in your account until the items you purchased are confirmed to have been delivered to you before the money finally leaves your account. At the time of temporary debit, the money will be in your account but it is on hold until your items are delivered to you before the money will be credited to the account of the seller. This is to avoid fraud, for instance where the buyer may collect your money without delivering the items. In a situation where the seller fails to deliver the items, your money will be revesed to your account. This is almost the same thing that happens in every online transaction.
I hope this wipes away the fear of buying online in the minds of my fellow Nigerians who never believe that there is a legitimate online transaction.
