Description of scholarship
Anandamahidol Foundation is established and
funded by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej with
an aim to support excellent academic and good
moral students to the highest academic opportunity abroad. Although there is no commitment, the awarded students are expected to bring back to knowledge to help developing Thailand in the future.
Requirements
There is no examination in the selection procedure
for this scholarship. The board which comprises of 8 specialists will nominate those who are appropriate to be awarded. The names will be respectfully conveyed to the King asking for final approval. The selection criteria will be based on both the qualifications of the applicants as well as the academic qualifications of the institution of that application.

Anandamahidol Foundation does not have limitation regarding the timeframe of study period, since the
aim of the scholarship is to support the student to their highest academic level. In the selection process, the applicant will be assessed based on their
potential to complete up to PhD level or specialist
level such as in Medical studies or Agricultural
studies.
Closing date:
There is only 1 Anandamahidol scholarship per year.
There might be zero students being awarded the
scholarship if in that particular year there is no applicant with appropriate qualifications. In certain years, if there is more than one appropriate candidate, the academic committee might propose
special case for more than 1 scholarship.

Difference between motion exparte and motion on notice

Both are interlocutory injunctions sought by way of applications (prayer) before the court; but they serve different purposes. Motion exparte which is interpreted as 'on one party' is an application before the court in time of urgency; to restrain from doing an act which may cause an irreparable injury to the applicant. The order subsists pending the final determination of the suit. Eg. If the subject matter of the suit is a an economic tree, and the defendant intends to cut the tree because he claims it belongs to him, the plaintiff can apply for a motion exparte for court to stop the Defendant from cutting the tree until the suit is determined. It is an exception to the rule of fair hearing enshrined in the constitution. So, the Defendant need not be served provided the Plaintiff can convince the court that waiting for the Defendant to be served will occasion an irreparable injury on him as the Defendant may cut the tree before service is effected on him.
