The website of Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) Yola formely known as Federal University of Technology, Yola (FUTY) has been hacked. The website www.mautech.edu.ng has been down for some days as a result of the illegal act of hackers. The information was made public on Monday 29th December, 2014 after Vahyala Elisha; a student of the institution published it on the facebook group of the institution's Students Union Government. Upto the time of compiling this report, none of the institution's officials has made a comment over the situation. When the Success Minds Crew visited the school's website, the site was blank, except a caveate indicating that the website is undergoing maintenance. Comments coming from the students indicate that the school has been negligent over cyber security measures as the school website is a product of joomla - a free content management system; an open source software. This ugly situation is happening at the time when students are about returning from Chrismas holiday to start their exams. Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) Yola is a Nigerian Federal University of Technology located in Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State, in the North-East of Nigeria. The university's students population is around six thousand. The university has Information Technology as one of its faculties. Now, the question coming from the public is; if a university of technology's website could be hacked, what happenes to other non-technology universities across the country?
